The Cr4+:YAG crystal is an excellent saturable absorption material. It exhibits strong absorption within the wavelength range of 0.8 - 1.2μm. Moreover, it has advantages such as a high melting point, damage resistance, and good thermal conductivity, and is frequently used as a passive Q-switch for 0.8 - 1.2μm wavelength lasers.
